Dumpster Sizes
What dumpster sizes does Dumpster Daddy offer?
Dumpster Daddy rents 15, 20, 25, 30, and 40-yard roll-off dumpsters. The right size depends on the material, total volume, weight, available placement space, and project type.
Which dumpster size is best for a residential cleanout?
A 15 or 20-yard dumpster often works for smaller household cleanouts, flooring, roofing, and room renovations. Larger whole-home, estate, or moving cleanouts may require a 25 or 30-yard container. Call us so we can size the project before delivery.
Which dumpster size is best for contractors?
Contractors commonly use 20, 25, 30, or 40-yard dumpsters depending on the debris and job schedule. Heavy materials may require a smaller container or special loading limits even when the project creates a large volume of debris.
What fits in a 15-yard dumpster?
The 15-yard dumpster is a compact option for smaller renovations, roofing debris, garage cleanouts, flooring removal, landscaping debris, and heavy-material jobs where weight matters.
What fits in a 20-yard dumpster?
The 20-yard dumpster is a versatile choice for medium home cleanouts, kitchen or bathroom renovations, roofing projects, deck removal, flooring, and smaller construction jobs.
What fits in a 25-yard dumpster?
The 25-yard dumpster provides extra capacity for larger renovations, property cleanouts, contractor debris, tenant turnovers, and projects that fall between a standard 20-yard and larger 30-yard container.
What fits in a 30-yard dumpster?
The 30-yard dumpster works well for major home cleanouts, estate cleanouts, construction and demolition debris, large remodeling projects, and bulky material that would overwhelm a smaller container.
What fits in a 40-yard dumpster?
The 40-yard dumpster is designed for high-volume debris from major construction, commercial cleanouts, large demolition projects, and substantial property cleanups. Weight and material restrictions still apply.
Residential and Contractor Rentals
Do you rent dumpsters to homeowners?
Yes. Dumpster Daddy serves homeowners completing renovations, moving cleanouts, estate cleanouts, storm cleanup, landscaping, roofing, flooring, and other residential projects.
Do you provide dumpsters for contractors and construction sites?
Yes. We provide roll-off dumpsters for contractors, remodelers, roofers, property managers, builders, and commercial job sites. Discuss delivery timing, pickup needs, debris type, and recurring service with our team.
How do I choose the right dumpster size?
Tell us what you are removing, the approximate project size, and whether the debris is especially heavy. We will recommend a container that balances capacity, weight limits, placement space, and price.
How much does a dumpster rental cost?
Pricing depends on dumpster size, delivery location, rental period, debris type, weight, and disposal requirements. Request a quote for pricing based on your actual project.
How long can I keep the dumpster?
Rental periods depend on the selected service and project. Confirm the included rental period and any extended-day charges when booking.
Pricing, Payment and Rental Periods
What is included in my dumpster rental price?
Your quote covers delivery, pickup, disposal, and the weight allowance included with your container size. The 15 and 20-yard include up to 2 tons, the 25 and 30-yard include up to 3 tons, and the 40-yard includes up to 4 tons.
We use transparent pricing, so you get the full number before the container is delivered rather than a base rate that grows later.
Are there hidden dumpster rental fees?
No. The price we quote is the price for the size, location, debris type, and rental period you describe when booking.
A few things can change a total, and we explain them upfront: loads that go over the included weight allowance, extra rental days, prohibited materials that require special disposal, or a delivery that cannot be completed because the placement area is blocked.
Is there a weight limit on the dumpster?
Yes. Every roll-off includes a weight allowance in the price, and heavier loads are charged for the additional weight. The 15 and 20-yard include up to 2 tons, the 25 and 30-yard include up to 3 tons, and the 40-yard includes up to 4 tons.
Heavy material such as concrete, brick, dirt, tile, and roofing shingles reaches the limit long before the container looks full, so tell us what you are loading and we will match you to the right size.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, including Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. We do not accept personal checks or money orders.
Can I rent a dumpster for a weekend?
Yes. Weekend projects are common, and we schedule delivery and pickup around when you actually plan to work. Call earlier in the week when you can, since weekend slots fill up faster during busy seasons.
Can I extend my rental if the project takes longer?
Yes. Let your account manager know before your rental period ends and we will quote the additional days upfront. Keeping the container longer is almost always easier and cheaper than rushing the job or ordering a second dumpster.
Why rent a dumpster instead of hiring a junk removal company?
A junk removal crew charges by what they load and works on their schedule. A roll-off sits in your driveway for the length of the project, so you can work at your own pace, in stages, evenings and weekends included.
For renovations, cleanouts, and job sites that produce debris over several days, a dumpster is usually the lower cost per load and the more flexible option. For a single small pickup-truck load, junk removal may make more sense.
Delivery, Placement and Loading
Can I get same-day dumpster delivery?
Same-day or next-day delivery may be available depending on container inventory, location, and scheduling. Call as early as possible to confirm current availability.
Where should the dumpster be placed?
Choose a flat, firm, accessible surface with enough overhead and approach clearance for the delivery truck. Driveways and job-site staging areas are common, but placement should be confirmed before delivery.
Will a dumpster damage my driveway?
Heavy containers and trucks can affect some surfaces. Discuss driveway condition and placement with our team. Protective boards may help distribute weight, but they cannot eliminate every risk.
What materials are not allowed in a dumpster?
Prohibited items commonly include hazardous chemicals, wet paint, batteries, tires, pressurized tanks, medical waste, and certain appliances or electronics. Restrictions vary by disposal facility, so confirm questionable materials before loading.
Can I put concrete, dirt, brick, or roofing material in the dumpster?
Heavy debris may be accepted, but it requires the correct container and strict weight limits. Never mix or load heavy material without confirming the material and fill level first.
How high can I load the dumpster?
Debris must remain below the top rail and be distributed safely. An overfilled or unsafe container may not be transportable and can result in unloading requirements or additional charges.
Do I need a permit for a dumpster?
A permit may be required when placing a dumpster on a public street, right-of-way, or other regulated property. Rules vary by municipality and property type. Customers should confirm local requirements before delivery.
When should I order my dumpster?
As soon as you know your start date. Same-day and next-day delivery are often available, but booking ahead locks in the size you want.
Storm cleanup, spring cleanout season, and the end of the month are the busiest windows in Central Alabama, so give us extra notice when your project falls in one of those.
How much space do I need for dumpster delivery?
As a general rule, plan for roughly 60 feet of straight clearance for the truck to back in and roll the container off, about 10 to 12 feet of width, and clear overhead space with no low limbs, wires, or roof overhangs.
Tight driveways and narrow streets are common in older Birmingham-area neighborhoods. Describe the spot when you book and we will tell you whether it will work or suggest a better placement.
Will the dumpster fit in my driveway?
Most will. The 15-yard is about 16 feet long, the 20 and 25-yard about 17 feet, and the 30 and 40-yard about 22 feet, all roughly 7.5 to 8 feet wide.
Measure the flat, usable part of your driveway before booking, and remember that the truck needs room to approach and lift. If space is tight, a smaller container emptied twice often works better than forcing in a large one.
Do I have to be home for delivery or pickup?
No. Most deliveries happen without the customer present. Tell us exactly where the container should go when you book, and mark the spot if it is not obvious.
Just make sure the area is clear of cars, trailers, and equipment on delivery day, and that the path stays clear when it is time for pickup.
Can I put appliances, mattresses, or furniture in the dumpster?
Furniture and mattresses are usually fine. Appliances that contain refrigerant, such as refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners, need special handling and must be confirmed before loading.
Televisions, computers, and other electronics may also be restricted depending on the disposal facility, so ask before they go in.
Does rain affect my dumpster rental?
It can. An open container collects water, and wet debris such as drywall, carpet, soil, and yard waste gets much heavier, which can push a load past its weight allowance.
If heavy rain is coming and your load is already near the limit, cover the container with a tarp or call us about an earlier pickup.
Pickup and Ongoing Projects
How do I schedule pickup?
Contact Dumpster Daddy when the container is ready. Make sure access is clear, debris is below the top rail, doors are secured, and no prohibited items have been loaded.
What should contractors provide when requesting a quote?
Provide the job address, debris type, estimated volume, requested dumpster size, preferred delivery date, placement instructions, project duration, and whether you expect swaps or recurring pickups.
Can you swap a full dumpster for an empty one?
Container swaps may be available for ongoing construction or large cleanout projects. Schedule swaps in advance whenever possible so the job site keeps moving.
