We believe the trades are a strong path to a good career, and to owning a business someday. The Dumpster Daddy Scholarship is one way we invest in the next generation of people who build, fix, and keep our communities running.
Who Can Apply
Who the Scholarship Is For
The scholarship is for a young person getting started in hands-on, skilled work, including:
- Students planning to attend, or already attending, a trade or technical school
- Apprentices learning a skilled trade on the job
- Anyone working toward a trade license or certification
- Young entrepreneurs starting a blue-collar or service business
Trades can include welding, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, construction, diesel and automotive repair, and more. Full eligibility requirements are posted with each year’s application.

Trade School
Tuition, fees, or books for a trade or technical school program.
Apprenticeships
Costs that come with starting an apprenticeship in a skilled trade.
Certifications
